So there it is: my year in cards :) These are just some of the ones I've enjoyed making most. Show me some of yours now I've shown you mine....

Belated Christmas Love

Did you all have a lovely Christmas? We did, but it started for real yesterday when my stepson Charlie arrived. We really were meant to be a family of 4 :) Well 5 really but we can't have another cat just yet :( Need Rosie to be a bit older so she understands that they need looking after rather than just having their tail pulled!
Speaking of Rosie, she was cover girl on the Christmas/Winter issue of Sprouts magazine. The photographer was my bestest friend Suzanne Fossey who is the best photographer I know. Biased? Don't know what you mean... If you would like to see the full set of photos, click onViewing Area and email/text me for the password :)

Just before Christmas I did some work for the lovely people at Make the Moment Last. Here's some of the work I did for them....

Proud to say....

.... that the lovely ladies at A Trip Down Memory Lane asked me to make some things with their gorgeous products for December. So I rolled in the joy that is Christmas papers, glitter and ink. And this is what I made.....

The last few months have been busy with work and school things and more work and occasionally sleeping (but not too much of that) I hope to not neglect my blog too much in the coming months but apologies in advance if I lapse somewhat.... Promise to post some more before Xmas tho :)

Normal service will soon resume....

Huge apologies for being seemingly AWOL. I promise I have been around, there's just been an awful lot of life going on just recently and altho I've been making stuff, I've not had a lot of time to post. I promise that normal service will resume by next week at the latest :)

Inspiration, Colds and Days Off

I have some time off work... which is fab. But then I've caught a cold. Always happens that way doesn't it? This one is straight to my chest tho, no messing around with runny noses. meh... Hasn't stopped the creativity which seems to be flowing with ease at the mo. Last night I did a scrapbook LO and a hanging decoration. It did help that I had an extra crafting hour last night tho ;) Got to get some benefit from the clocks going back I spose, that and the fact that it was actually light when we woke up this morning.
Did a bit of craft shopping yesterday but all it's really made me do is think that I really do need a sewing machine and I rather like the look of this affordable little item. Hmmmm I might pop to John Lewis today....
Here's this week's card from Di, I have to say, she keeps my creativity flowing too. I now have November's sketches to play with :)
Have a lovely Sunday everyone x

Ever so slightly bonkers...

I must be.
I've said that I'll have a stall at the school Christmas Fayre. Cos working full time and looking after my family aren't enough of a challenge. Hmmmm, anyway, I kinda do like a challenge so I shall shut up and get on with making cards and other Christmas bits and bobs. And I'll hope I get enough to fill a table by the 12th Dec.
Here's the card I made for Di's sketch for this week. Nice and girly pink...

And I just want to shout about a couple of other things before I go to bed.
The first one is Peet's blog. Oh. My. Goodness this woman is my card-making hero.....
And the other is some lovely digi stamps from Whimsie Doodles. I've bought some of these and coloured them in but I still need to make cards with them, so watch this space...

I've been lazy....

And not posted for some time. Lots happening and not a lot of time to relax, hence neglecting the blog for a while.
For completing the 7 cards on the Caarvarks Sketch fest I was given a special mention badge, so here it is....

I've also made a couple of cards that might be worth an upload, so here they are. The first pays homage to the wonderful Kim Hughes and her stunning stamps, which I buy from Cornish Heritage Farms.

The next was done to one of Di Hickman's sketches and has one of my favourite Hero Arts stamps on it :)

Right I have a card to finish and fingers to get inky (read: mucky). Night night xXx

Stick a fork in me.... I'm done

Card number 7. The final one. I have stickled, grunged, shabby'd, gone semi-hybrid, inked and stamped and I have loved it. Give me a sketch and I'll give you a card.
Here is number 7, so easy for me to find what I wanted to use and do in no time at all. Helped enormously that it was a non-work day too ;)
It's been fun, even moreso that I've done it with my sister Soo, my crafting hero xx

Nearly at the end..... I'm utterly exhausted after another difficult day so I'll keep this brief.
Lots of pale blue and shabby. Much enjoyed and I can't wait to see tomorrow's sketch xx

Mmmmm Velvet

I've done another one. I am down to minimum housework til this task is complete, that's how my priorities are and that's why my house looks the way it does.

I have decided that I either have too much stash or inadequate storage and workspace. Either way I need to make more cards and in a larger space with all new storage. That's ok tho isn't it? Ikea here we come ;)

Awful day at work today, I have been very supportive of the changes in the organisation I work for, understanding that they are (usually) required but today all I could think was 'enough'. My voice is too small in a workforce of over 30,000 so I shall of course just continue to do what needs to be done and support my lovely colleagues. I am very lucky to enjoy the job I do and I'm grateful for that.

Anyway, back to cards. Mmmm velvet and brads and also velvet brads. I used some digi-printed flowers on this (love hybrid but I don't do it enough). Back to grunge too but it's fun and sometimes messy and I'm gabbling for England so I'll bog off to bed xXx

Sketchfest Sketch 4

Caardvarks time again and I loved the simplicity of the sketch so I went for a card that has simplicity too. Just 3 elements and no stamping. I'll repeat that for those who just don't understand: I didn't do any stamping on this card. Spread a bit of ink about tho and played with the Cuttlebug so it was still a bit messy ;)
Anyway, time to post, have a nose at Soo's blog and then go to bed for a 7 hour snooze. Nighty Night xXx

Number 3 with a flower....

Why on earth would a full time working parent dedicate 7 nights to card-making. Well, it's a good way of not doing housework and I'm a crazy lady who makes cards and talks to cats despite not having any. Oh and I also like a challenge that pushes me just a tad ;) Don't know what my lovely sister Soo's reasoning is, but she's related to me so she could well be a crazy lady too....
Here's number 3. Decided to get away from Grungie or autumn colours and do something a bit brighter. Got some friends leaving work in the next few months so it was a good opportunity to make some cards too. See you tomorrow x

Monday, 21 September 2009

And for sketch number 2...

I decided to make a Christmas card. Love these Purple Onion Design stamps which I bought from the lovely 3dJean. This sketch was great and the card practically made itself. Oh if only that were true so I could have been off doing fun things like making packed lunches for tomorrow. Anyway......
I'll be back tomorrow night ;)

Caardvarks Sketchfest Sunday

I think I must be ever so slightly crazy to do this but I'm going to try to get a card made each night this week for the Sketchfest on Caardvarks this week - Arghhhh!!!
Gotta be worth the challenge tho eh?
Here's number 1...

Short week that lasted forever

I had the first 2 days of this week off (still easing me into Rosie's new school regime) and started back to work on Weds. My goodness it was longer than an ordinary week!!! And this is from someone who loves her job. I also had to come home from work early today due to a hoooge headache which got knocked on the head (sic) by a co-dydramol and 40 mins sleep (altho I feel a bit hung over from it all). Needless to say that I am so pleased it's the weekend now.
Here's this week's card done for Di's sketch blog (linkie on the right). Hope you all have a great weekend xXx

Two for the price of one

I made one card for 2 challenges. Is that cheating? I hope not. I often go to sketch sites for inspiration and mojo-kicking and this week I looked to CPS but I was also moved by the Hero Arts challenge this week which was all about autumn colours schemes. So I went for vivid colours and a lovely Hero Arts stamp set.
Hope you all have a good weekend :)

Some cards

I have been neglecting Blogging somewhat of late and so I've not posted any of the cards I've made for Di Hickman, so here's the last few weeks worth. Loads of fun to work with her fabulous sketches, thanks loads Di :)

New Era

Our baby girl started school.
FFS!!! Where did the time go? Someone please tell me.... It feels like she's been with us from the start (and to be honest, it wasn't too long after we met that she was)...
Anyway, There's a collection of her best bits from the first day. Needless to say she loves it and it's wiping her out each day, she's going to bed somewhat earlier than usual :)
All I can say really is well done RosieToes, you little Superstar xXx

No piccies from me just at the moment today as I'm using the wee pooter thingie and I can't get to the network, so sorry...
Just thought I'd post a smuggness post as things seem to be rather fabulous at the mo. I have only one shadow and that's the changes at work. I know what I will do if they throw me out (I have a back up plan for the first time in forever) but I do know that these changes will mean dear friends will be leaving and I've already shed a tear and more will come... Change is inevitable for things to continuously improve. That's pretty much my mantra for work.
And on the subject of work, I've just had the best appraisal I've had since starting at NU/Aviva 6 years ago. I really do feel like I've found what I was meant to do in the world of IT and it feels good.
As for more good stuff, Charlie is coming to stay this coming week for 5 days and that makes me very happy. I always feel that our family is complete when he's with us but having him here cements that feeling even more.
Another fab that's happening soon is that Rosie starts Cecil Gowing First School in 2 weeks time and altho it will be a strain on my Mummy-heart, it is such a beautiful school and she will be able to see some of her best friends every day and she's so ready to be formally taught. We've done all we can, this is going to be brilliant for her. At this point I must say a massive thank you to my husband Raymond who has taken the very important role of taking care of her in the last 3 months so I could change my working hours and get stuck into my new job. I am a very lucky woman that he's made it so easy for me.
Lastly I'm going to wish my neice Rebecca a very happy 17th birthday. I clearly remember the day she was born and I was phoned to be told in the middle of the 3 Musketeers :) I know you wouldn't visit here in a million years Becca but have a great one!!!!!
So, you see I have much to be content about. Now I need to get up and get stuck into more de-cluttering this weekend. Our local charity shop won't know what's hit it :) Have a great weekend whatever you do xXx

And from the book listed below....

Me and my baby girl made these this evening....

Using this fabulous recipe :)

Monday, 10 August 2009

I seem to have gotted to a point tonight where I can't continue crafting cos my back is way too sore. Not good at all :( So I thought I type this up quickly and then off to bed.
I have 2 weeks off til my step son is up to visit for 4 days and I have 5 days off work {sigh}.
Still not got the blog how I like it as yet, but it's getting there.
Not much to report other than lots of work and getting ready for Rosie to start school 4 weeks today. Her uniform is very cute and I know she will look such a cutie in it. Let's hope she behaves like one at school ;)
I shall leave you {before I start whining about my sore back} with my card for Di Hickman for last week.... Night night xx

Tuesday, 4 August 2009

I very often spend my evenings browsing digi shops when I am searching for a. mojo or b. things to buy and I will eventually be adding some places to buy nice stuff as a link. My fave all time digi artist is Kate Hadfield who works mainly for The LilyPad, and I have been lucky enough to work for Kate in the past.
Tonight I found my second favourite digi artist, her name is Ellie Lash and she works mainly for Scrapbook Graphics , here's her blog... Very inspiring and incredibly cute work.
Right, I've got backache... time for bed... xx

Nearly bought it today but I was a good girl and desisted....

A few of my favourite scrappers....

Not posting much tonight as I'm under the weather. But I've been boring enough about that already so all I'll say is that there is some incredible inspiration for scrapbookers on the July gallery at A Trip Down Memory Lane if you need any :) Some of my favourite paper artists for July so go here if you want a little mojo... and here if you want to shop... go on, you know you want to

All Change!!!!

Blimey, I've moved and I'm still a bit lost. Not used Blogger for an age so I'm not sure what goes where yet. I've moved from Typepad cos there seems to be more for your money over here, especially as it's free {hee hee}.
There's still loads I need to do/add so at the mo, it's a bit like visiting me at home {where nothing's finshed there either}.
I know my header's a mess at the mo too but that will get sorted and the credits {mainly to The LilyPad} will also be added.
So now I need to go and put a redirect on the old blog and get working on this one....
Anyway, I will be adding some stuff from my old blog {not sure how or whether to import or not} but until then, here's last week's card for Di Hickman. I love making cards for this lovely lady's sketch blog.....
I may well be posting more often now... who knows.... watch this space ;)
